Direct Consulting Engagement

Sometimes you don't have time
to figure out all the technical stuff.
You just need it built.

The work doesn't stop — and neither does the need for funding that fuels it. For organizations that need the infrastructure built so you can keep delivering maximum impact to the community that depends on you. FundReady builds your capital map, your core documents, and your applications, in phases, with real deliverables at every stage.

How This Is Different

Not a workshop.
A direct engagement, phase by phase.

This is for organizations that know they need capital readiness infrastructure, but don't have the internal time or capacity to build it themselves right now — and want it done by people who've built it before.

This is a direct consulting engagement, delivered in phases, with tangible deliverables at each stage. Each phase stands alone — you can engage for Phase 1 only, or continue through Phase 2 and Phase 3.

This is about readiness, not execution. We build the map, the documents, and the applications. Your board's decisions, your donor relationships, and any non-grant capital you pursue stay yours to run.

You keep everything we build, regardless of what comes next.

The Engagement

Three phases. Each one complete on its own.

You may engage for Phase 1 only, or continue through Phase 2 and Phase 3. Later phases are confirmed after the prior one delivers.

Phase 1
Capital Map & Readiness Assessment
$2,500–$3,500
Flat fee · 2–3 weeks
  • Review of existing organizational documents, program descriptions, and partnership records
  • Completion of the FundReady Readiness Assessment framework
  • Identification of grant funding opportunities aligned to your mission and programs — grant funding only. Non-grant capital (loans, equity, earned revenue) typically requires board-level decisions; we can note it as an option worth considering, but researching or securing it isn't part of this engagement
  • Written Capital Map: funder profiles, grant ranges, deadlines, eligibility requirements, and readiness notes
  • Alignment is everything: we identify funders whose priorities genuinely align with the work you do and the communities you serve — including those worth pursuing as long-term partners, not just one-time asks. From there, building the relationship is yours.
  • Gap analysis: what organizational documents are missing and what impact their absence has on specific funders — built from your completed FundReady Grant Readiness Assessment
  • Strategic timeline: which funders to approach now, in 6 months, and in 12–18 months
  • One strategy session (60–90 minutes) to walk through findings, confirm Phase 2 priorities, and map out what materials and information we'll need from you to get started

Phase 2
Foundation Build — Core Documents
$7,000
Flat fee · 2–4 weeks

This phase is a partnership, not a drop-off. You'll gather and share the materials we need — existing documents, financial records, program details — and you'll answer discovery questions about how things actually work day to day in your organization. We facilitate and assimilate everything you provide; the accuracy of what we build depends on what you bring to it.

  • Theory of Change — documented causal logic connecting your programs to outcomes
  • Logic Model — inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes for each program
  • Program Narratives — standalone, funder-ready descriptions for each program area
  • Budget Framework — program and organizational budgets structured for grant submission
  • Sustainability Narrative — how you sustain beyond initial grant funding
  • Case Statement — a master narrative document that anchors every proposal across funders
  • Document review session to finalize all deliverables
Phase 3
Application Execution
$500–$1,500
Per application, or retainer
  • Letter of Inquiry (LOI) drafting for funders requiring LOI-first pathways
  • Full grant proposal writing tailored to each funder's requirements and guidelines
  • Budget preparation and narrative alignment for each submission
  • Review and approval by your leadership prior to submission
  • Optional: training for internal staff or a future hire on proposal preparation using the Phase 2 documents as the foundation

Phase 1
Capital Map & Readiness Assessment
$2,500 – $3,500
Phase 2
Foundation Build — Core Documents
$7,000
Phases 1 and 2 together run approximately $9,500–$10,500, depending on scope. This is the complete readiness package — the map and every core document, yours to keep regardless of what comes next. Phase 1 is the entry point; Phase 2 is confirmed once you've seen the work.
Phase 3
Application Execution — engaged separately, once a real opportunity is open
$500–$1,500 / application or retainer

What you keep: every deliverable produced in this engagement belongs to you. The Capital Map, all core documents, program narratives, and case statement are yours to use with any funder, any writer, or any future staff member — permanently.
